Ryan Reynolds allegedly wants to work with Marvel's “new Black Widow"

The introduction of Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool into the MCU is likely going on be the smooth side. At this point, it's what we've come to expect from the Merc with a Mouth. After all, the character already reversed time in Deadpool 2.

On the other hand, rumours claim Ryan Reynolds isn't allowed to share the screen with beloved MCU character Black Widow. With the two actors’ divorce cited as the reason they can't share the screen, could Deadpool interact with Black Widow? Actually, there's a possibility.

Who is the MCU's new Black Widow?

While Deadpool can't be on screen with Johansson’s Widow, that doesn't mean they can't have a new Black Widow. Just like with Sam Wilson taking up the mantle of Captain America or Shuri becoming Black Panther, the Widow is also just a title.

Following the death of Black Widow in Avengers: Endgame, the mantle is expected to carry over to Yelena Belova. Played by Florence Pugh, the character is making their first on-screen appearance in the upcoming Black Widow movie. Furthermore, Belova is confirmed to appear in the Disney+ Hawkeye series.

Just like Johansson’s Natasha Romanov, Belova is an expert assassin. Trained in the Red Room, the character should have all the skills that the original Black Widow had access to.

Ryan Reynolds wants to work with new Black Widow

Leaked by insider Daniel Richtman, Ryan Reynolds is looking forward to the opportunity to work with the new character. Set up in the last episode of Falcon and the Winter Soldier, the MCU looks like it’s on its way of introducing The Thunderbolts.

The reformed group of supervillains fighting for good often changes cast in the comics, but numerous characters have served with the team. Of course, Deadpool and the new Black Widow are just a couple, but there's also Baron Zemo and US Agent – John Walker.

There's likely nothing stopping Ryan Reynolds from working with the new Black Widow. In fact, having two new introductions to the MCU will probably help fans adjust to the changes that post-Endgame Marvel movies are going to make.
