Pokémon TCG from Game Boy Color and N64 gem Pokémon Stadium 2 are now available on Switch via NSO. Both classic titles were stealth dropped as part of the recent Pokémon Presents showcase.
The TCG Game Boy Color game was announced early on when NSO first added Game Boy support. It took a while but fans can finally play this Game Boy classic on their Switch, assuming they have the base NSO subscription.
For a more modern title, Pokémon Stadium 2 somewhat fills that void, letting players battle it out with critters from Gold, Silver, Red, and Blue. At the time, this was the first game that gave fans 3D models of the Gold and Silver creatures. Players will need an NSO + Expansion Pack to play this.
Sadly, the classic games were not announced during the presentation, which still stings. While having these rare spin-off titles is fine, most would rather have the classic RPGs readily available on their Switch.
At the least, fans now have both Pokémon Stadium games in one system, assuming they're paying $50 a month for the NSO Expansion. These two games, plus the Game Boy Color TCG title, are still good games, just not what players are craving for.
