The recent Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC showcase has revitalised fan interest in the monster-collecting RPG duo. Interestingly, a new character who is a part of the DLC might have a major connection to a previous game in the series — Pokémon Legends: Arceus.
Perrin is a new character introduced in the first DLC: The Teal Mask. In the DLC, she wants to photograph a special Pokémon in the Timeless Woods. However, what makes the character stand out is that she bears an uncanny resemblance to Adaman from Legends: Arceus.
Fans on the Scarlet and Violet subreddit noticed that her eyes and hair color are eerily similar to Adaman. She also has a pentagon patch on her jeans, similar to the pentagon symbols Adaman has on his robes.
Referencing Legends: Arceus in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC would be easy fanservice. Considering how fans loved the spin-off for taking the franchise in a unique direction, it would elevate the DLC, story-wise.
Adaman was the head of the Diamond Clan and had a friendly rivalry with Irida of the Pearl Clan. The chemistry between these two came off as romantic to some and now there are theories that Perrin could be their child. Unless we get time travel in the DLC, we doubt that’s the case and her being a descendant seems more likely.
It will be interesting to see if Perrin does divulge her unique ancestry or if this is fans looking too much into her appearance. With all that being said, there’s no denying that she looks ridiculously similar to Adaman and we hope that isn’t a coincidence.
New characters like Perrin make the upcoming Pokémon Scarlet and Violet DLC much more interesting. Fans were already excited for the mix of old and new critters coming but having unique stories to play through adds to the intrigue. Hopefully, all of our questions are answered when the DLC comes out this September.
