NVIDIA has announced a significant expansion to its GeForce NOW cloud gaming service, including support for standalone mixed reality headsets like the Meta Quest 3 and 3S.

This move was revealed at CES 2025 and allows players to stream gamepad-compatible PC games with advanced Nvidia features like ray tracing and DLSS, elevating the gaming experience to new heights.

GeForce NOW transforms standard devices into GeForce RTX-powered gaming rigs, allowing players to experience high-quality gaming on a giant virtual screen.

Starting in January with version 2.0.70, Meta Quest 3 owners can access the service via their device's browser by visiting play.geforce.com.

This increases the headset's capabilities beyond virtual reality, including a library of over 2,100 titles and highly anticipated blockbusters like DOOM: The Dark Ages and Avowed.

Subscribers to GeForce NOW's Performance or Ultimate levels will benefit from Nvidia's cutting-edge RTX and DLSS technology, which offers photorealistic visuals and seamless gameplay. This advancement transforms Meta Quest 3 into a versatile gaming device suitable for virtual reality and high-quality flat gaming.

It also complements existing options like Xbox cloud gaming, which added Game Pass titles to Meta devices in late 2023, but with greater geographic reach.

In collaboration with Meta, Pico, and Apple, Nvidia is enabling cloud gaming on virtual reality headsets and expanding its global reach.

Establishing a new RTX-powered data center in India highlights Nvidia's commitment to expanding cloud gaming into new markets and democratizing access to AAA titles.

By combining NVIDIA's cloud capabilities with the adaptability of Meta Quest devices, users can enjoy blockbuster PC games from any location, blurring the line between physical and virtual gaming environments.

This collaboration positions Meta Quest 3 as a front-runner in the evolving landscape of cloud-enabled gaming.
