Paul Bettany has no idea when White Vision will return to the MCU

WandaVision was a fantastic continuation of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Alongside furthering the MCU's narrative, the Disney+ show also gave Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany a chance to shine.

Marvel's debut TV show gave Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen on-screen chemistry like no other in the MCU. As such, fans are hoping that the two will be able to share a scene together again in the near future. Perhaps after Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness?

Paul Bettany has no idea when he'll return

In an interview with The Playlist, Bettany revealed that he doesn't quite know when he'll return to the MCU as White Vision. The original body of Vision without any personality, White Vision was introduced as an antagonist in the WandaVision finale. However, the character was left free at the end of the show. But when will he return? Bettany explained:

“I can’t answer that, honestly. I have many friends around this age, for whom White Vision was like a big deal for them in the ’70s. So Kevin [Feige] and I had been talking about that for years. But I can’t remember the moment. I suspected something when we talked about draining my character of color in 'Avengers: Infinity War.'"

When asked what the future has planned for him, the actor explained that he isn't currently under MCU contract.

"I don’t have a contract, I don’t know that, I don’t know that at all. And all that I do know is, as far as this sort of traunch of press goes, it’s for an Emmy push, which is for a limited series. So it doesn’t look like that happening again. I mean, I guess it would be difficult to introduce White Vision and not deal with him in some way, but we have not discussed that."

So, when will the character return?

There are plenty of opportunities for White Vision to pop up in the MCU. As the character is going on a journey of self-discovery, he could turn up anywhere. After all, Hulk went off into space for three years after Age of Ultron.

Of course, the best place for White Vision to appear would be Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. As Scarlet Witch is now an antagonist searching through the Multiverse for her family, it makes sense that a Vision would appear. However, the character’s reappearance could be too soon.
