Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are receiving mixed reception from fans. With the sheer number of technical issues and performance problems, fans are more than unhappy. In a move some of us didn’t see coming, it seems that Nintendo is accepting refunds for the games due to their current state.
Normally, we wouldn’t expect the gaming giant to give refunds, especially if the game is working well. Despite both games being playable JRPGs, the reputation they have gained for being a technical disaster seems to be enough to nab a refund.
Hopefully, the news leads to some changes being made, making Pokémon Scarlet and Violet better experiences for everyone. After all, fans do love various aspects of both games, but the swathe of issues are unacceptable.
On Reddit, user Hotdog_daddy detailed how Nintendo of America gave them a refund for the latest Pokémon release. The user claims that they were given their refund in just an hour. Additionally, they urged fans to request refunds if they want the game to get fixed.
More users chimed in, complimenting Nintendo of America for their responses, confirming they also received refunds for these games. It shows that these representatives are doing their jobs sufficiently, and if that leads to changes for these Pokémon games, that would be great.
“Yeah can confirm nintendo support does give you a refund if you tell them the game wasnt upto your expectations,” claims _DrDoofenshmirtz. “I got minecraft refunded because I felt like it didn't perform well enough.”
“Welcome to the refund team. Honestly, it sucks to have ti even do this. But we are actually potentially making some decent backlash,” said salacious_scholar. “Maybe we will get a decent patch and updates, in which case I'll buy the game used.”
It’s a shame that Pokémon Scarlet and Violet ended up like this, as many were hoping both games would be a huge step up. Not helping is the fact that Pokémon Legends: Arceus came out last year and was a solid product to many, showing that an open-world game in this franchise can be done well.
