A new entry in the popular Pokémon Mystery Dungeon series may have been teased in a new website. After the well-received Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX remake on Switch back in 2020, we might finally get a follow-up entry!

Dataminers have found traces of Spike Chunsoft in the source code in the new Pokémon Together website. Spike Chunsoft are known for developing this popular spin-off series and seeing them in the source code could mean a new installment.

These traces of code were spotted by @Necrolipe on Twitter. Like many, the user thinks this could mean a new Pokémon Mystery Dungeon game, though nothing has been confirmed yet. However, with a big celebration coming later this month, it looks like we’re getting something Pokémon-related soon.

For now, this seems to be the biggest possible tease for a new Pokémon game in 2023. Obviously, more things are going to be announced on Pokémon Day later this month, so fans should expect something major. Whether it ends with a new Mystery Dungeon game or simply starts with one is still unknown.

Pokémon Mystery Dungeon endeared itself to a number of fans when it first debuted on the Game Boy Advance and DS. Releases for the series have been pretty consistent, with plenty of entries in the DS and 3DS, before the Rescue Team DX remake hit Switch. Unlike the mainline games, Mystery Dungeon is a dungeon crawling RPG where players control a human that was turned into a Pokémon.

Right now, the only confirmed thing happening this month is a major update for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. It was announced that those two games would get a patch that would fix some of the technical issues. Since Pokémon Day can’t just be about a patch and a spin-off game, expect some news about the rumored Scarlet and Violet DLC.
