Apple is preparing to release enhanced Apple Intelligence features for the macOS Mail app. These features will boost the user experience with cutting-edge AI capabilities.
After the successful rollout of these features on iPhones and iPads with iOS 18.2, Mac users will soon benefit from the upgraded mail software in macOS 15.4, expected to be released in April 2025.

According to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, the revamped Mail app will feature smart categorization, allowing users to sort emails into categories like primary, transactions, updates, and promotions. Additionally, AI-powered prioritizing will place critical messages in the inbox, addressing a long-standing gap between Apple's desktop and mobile platforms.
While some AI tools, such as writing tools and Smart Reply, were introduced in macOS Sequoia 15.2, this update will expand functionality, bringing it in line with iOS and iPadOS.
This update will also come with Apple's Genmoji, an AI-generated unique emoji that first appeared on iPhones and iPads but is now available on Macs. These personalized emojis and the new Siri digital assistant signal Apple's commitment to integrating advanced AI tools across its ecosystem.
The new Siri will use App Intents technology to provide precise app control and improve customization, increasing its utility on macOS.
Apple's decision to focus on the Mail app is consistent with the growing demand for intelligent email management solutions. While competitors like Gmail have long provided comparable categorization functions, Apple's approach focuses on seamless integration with its ecosystem.
The redesign introduces a modernized user interface that improves usability in addition to the AI-driven functionalities.

Beta testing for macOS 15.3 has already begun, and macOS 15.4 is expected to enter beta soon. This update marks a significant step in Apple's AI strategy, bridging the gap between its mobile and desktop platforms and showing the tech giant's vision for smarter, more intuitive tools.
By extending these features to Mac users, Apple is committed to delivering a consistent and innovative experience across all its devices.
