If you think the trailers of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness have too many spoilers, you’re not alone. Marvel head honcho Kevin Feige also thinks that the trailers are filled with them and he’s not wrong.
Granted, when comparing the Doctor Strange 2 trailers to the recent leak, you can hardly consider them spoilers. Then again, did we really need to see What If? Strange, Professor X, and Captain Carter before the film's release?
Kevin Feige slams Multiverse of Madness marketing
During the world premiere of Doctor Strange 2, Feige quickly mentioned the spoilery nature of the movie's trailers. The Marvel president explained that recent trailers have been showing too much. Every, even with some surprises spoiled, Feige feels that Multiverse of Madness is a must-see in cinemas.
"There’s been too much in the trailers, I don’t want to talk about anything else. But I will say, Sam has made this movie to be experienced on as big a screen as possible, and it’s even the first one in a long time that 3D was really taken into account too, because the first Doctor Strange film I think was out best film ever in 3D, and this one now will be right alongside that."

Feige is clearly not pleased with marketing’s use of Doctor Strange 2 footage and we can’t blame the man. Marvel Studios and Disney are usually protective of spoilers, as advertising for Star Wars and Avengers: Endgame show, so it was surprising to see them approve of the trailers and TV spots. We’re sure that Feige is crying on his hundred-dollar bills about it.

No more spoilers?
Considering Kevin Feige's Multiverse of Madness comments, it will be interesting to see how future MCU movies handle their trailers from here on out. The first trailer of Thor: Love and Thunder was vague enough, only showing returning characters and Jane Foster wielding Mjolnir. Will future trailers be even more restrictive?
An argument can be made about spoilers not ruining a movie. Most of us knew Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire were appearing in Spider-Man: No Way Home but the moment of seeing all three Spider-Men together was still awesome. Plus, most people who get spoiled are usually looking for spoilers anyway.
Even with all the spoilers out there, it seems like Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a hit with critics. We’re sure that the movie will make a boatload of money so maybe having spoilers on the trailers is the way to go. Personally, we still like being surprised by Marvel films; we kind of miss the past vagueness of marketing for movies like Avengers: Endgame.
