MCU fans hire Iron Man revival campaign billboard in Los Angeles

Marvel Studios' Avengers: Endgame was a fantastic finale for a decade of superhero movies. Ending with the death of Tony Stark, complete with the iconic I am Iron Man line, it finished the saga with an emotional stab

Some fans just can't seem to move on. Years after the movie’s release, fans are still campaigning for Disney to revive the deceased Iron Man.

Fans want Disney to revive Iron Man

As part of a new wave of the “Being Back Tony Stark” campaign, fans in Los Angeles have hired a billboard to spread their request. Much like the “Release the Snyder Cut" and “Restore the SnyderVerse", this fan campaign hopes to nudge the studio into pleasing fans. However, unlike those campaigns, most fans are fine with Tony Stark's death.

This new billboard isn't the first time fans have cried for the return on Iron Man. Following the release of Endgame, over 65,000 MCU fans signed a petition to bring the character back from the dead. This petition declares that the character “deserves to live and we his daughter grow up"

Robert Downey Jr is returning to the MCU for the upcoming What If series, but the character is not expected to return. In fact, Disney's next phase of the MCU is moving far beyond the initial scope of the cinematic universe with plans for Fantastic Four, X-Men, Deadpool, Blade and more.

Picking up the mantle

In comic books, characters die. However, their legacy as a hero does not. Just like Peter Parker isn't the only Spider-Man in the comics, Iron Man won't be the only armoured hero. Firstly, Don Cheadle's War Machine is finally set to have some real screen time in the upcoming Armour Wars. Secondly, Disney is producing an Ironheart show, the successor of Tony Stark.

On top of this, Marvel is replacing other first phase heroes. Sam Wilson, aka Falcon, is the new Captain America; Shuri is likely taking the role of Black Panther, and even Black Widow is being replaced. With a franchise as long-running as the MCU, these handovers are essential, even if they break your heart.
