What’s better than finding a boatload of loot in an extraction shooter? Being able to survive and keep it, of course. As a tactical, hardcore extraction shooter, you need to know how to call for transport in Gray Zone Warfare to avoid untimely death and starting again at square one.
Dying while out in the field will result in you losing all your hard-earned loot and send you back to the main menu with your head in your hands. With how extraction is tied up in Gray Zone Warfare’s factions system, it’s also more complicated than you’d first expect. So, here’s how to extract in Gray Zone Warfare to save your loot and live to fight another day.
How to call for transport in Gray Zone Warfare
To extract and call for transport in Gray Zone Warfare, open the map and right-click on the destination you want to travel to, not your closest LZ. Selecting your nearest LZ will either fail or simply give you a ride to another landing area and will not let you extract to Base Camp. To extract, you must select your faction camp as your destination.
This might seem counterintuitive at first. After all, you think you’d need to call in an extraction helicopter at the LZ for it to land and pick you up. However, you instead have to select where you’d like to be taken, and a heli will then automatically come to pick you up from your nearest LZ. While it might be tempting to call in an extraction well ahead of time so it’s ready and waiting for you, you’re best to wait and call your transport just before you arrive at your LZ.
Although you can call in transport just to move around the map faster, you’ll most often be using it to extract. This requires you to select the camp belonging to the faction you chose when creating your character. Remember that the Gray Zone Warfare wipe system also lets you change your faction, meaning your extraction destination will change if you side with another team.
Now you know how to extract and call for transport in Gray Zone Warfare, you’re ready to start gearing up, completing objectives and, of course, taking out other players in one of the best FPS games for tactical shooter fans.
