Google has revolutionized the way people communicate, and now, they're taking a step towards making email communication easier too. The highly anticipated AI chatbot, also known as Gmail Q&A, is now available on Gmail for Android devices.
Google claims this will streamline your inbox and enhance your productivity.
Google's Gmail Q&A Feature Expands to Mobile
With Gmail Q&A, you'll be able to ask Gemini questions about your inbox. These questions could be about anything like finding specific emails, summarising messages, or even seeing unread messages from a sender. For example, you'll be able to ask Gemini questions like, āWhat was the number of the ABC candidate?ā or āSummarize the Google Newsletter.ā
While the Gmail Q&A is a promising feature, it isn't available for everyone just yet. To use it, youāll need to have a subscription to Gemini Business, Enterprise, Education, Education Premium, or Google One AI Premium.
The feature certainly looks like it can help increase productivity and allow users to get more work done during their day.
How To Use Gemini Q&A?
To use Gemini Q&A on Android, if you're an admin, you will need to enable smart features and personalization. To do so, sign into the Google admin console and navigate to Menu > Account > Account Settings > Smart features and personalization.
Here, choose "Do not to set a default value for users" if you want them to turn the feature on/off on their own. However, if you select "Set a default value for users," it will turn on the smart features and personalization settings for your users by default.
If youāre an end user, enabling the feature will be easy. Just open Gemini in the Gmail app via the black Gemini star at the top right or from the 'summarize email' option. Then, follow the on-screen prompts to enable the feature.
When will Gmail Q&A Be Available to iOS users?
Google has announced that the powerful Gmail Q&A feature, currently available on Android, will soon be available for iOS devices. This feature, powered by Gemini AI, will provide a convenient way to manage and search through your emails on your iPhone or iPad, enhancing your email experience.
But that's not all. In addition to the iOS launch, Gmail Q&A is set to receive a significant upgrade. It will soon have the ability to search for information within your Google Drive files, making it even easier to find relevant documents, spreadsheets, or presentations directly from your Gmail inbox.
