Comedic actor Patton Oswalt made his MCU debut in Eternals as Pip the Troll. Appearing alongside Harry Styles’ Eros, the character is expected to return in an upcoming sequel, one that may actually be coming!
In an interesting statement, Oswalt confirmed that Eternals 2 is happening, and Chloe Zhao is set to return. This is an intriguing reveal as Marvel boss Kevin Feige didn’t announce the movie during that major MCU Phase 5 reveal. This means that the MCU head might have angry words with Oswalt if it’s true.
Eternals 2 accidentally announced?
During an appearance on The Today Show, Patton Oswalt may have revealed that Eternals 2 is a thing and that Chloe Zhao will return to the sequel as director. Oswalt implies that an Eternals sequel announcement was made, though no official announcement from Marvel Studios was made.
Pip the Troll’s actor said the following: "They have announced there's going to be an Eternals sequel, Chloe Zhao is going to direct it. So hopefully there will be more adventures of Starfox and Pip."
Eternals ended in a massive cliffhanger, so there’s a very good chance that Eternals 2 is happening. Black Knight, Blade, and Harry Styles’ Eros were all teased, so it wouldn’t be too crazy to see a sequel that features all of these characters.
While no official announcement was made, it’s worth noting that those big MCU Phase reveals aren’t always going to happen. Fans will remember how an Inhumans movie was announced before it turned into a bad television show. Armor Wars has also seemingly been removed from Phase 5 plans, though War Machine is expected to appear in Secret Invasion.

Kevin Feige angry?
It would be easy to assume that MCU head honcho Kevin Feige would get mad at Patton Oswalt but nothing’s been said about it thus far. Feige has feigned anger before but it seems to be more of a joke these days, though we’re sure he will have some sort of conversation with Oswalt if Eternals 2 ends up happening.
Admittedly, Oswalt’s comments have got nothing on what other MCU actors have spoiled before. Spider-Man actor Tom Holland is infamous for spoiling various MCU stories, while Mark Ruffalo actually said “everyone dies” in Infinity War, which sort of happened in that movie. Needless to say, we think Oswalt is fine.
Patton Oswalt will likely return as Pip the Troll if Marvel does greenlight Eternals 2. Oswalt has also had plenty of presence in Marvel media, voicing Uncle Ben in the Disney XD Spider-Man show and M.O.D.O.K. in that character’s Hulu show.
