Tesla CEO Elon Musk is the world’s richest man by a considerable margin. Musk is so rich that he is currently worth 129,411 times the amount of money the average human will make in a lifetime. The Tesla CEO is over $30,000,000,000 richer than Jeff Bezos. He earned $36 billion in one day. But that’s not enough.
After all, the rich must get richer, and Elon Musk is desperate to hold onto his anti-union doubloons. As the colloquially known Billionaire Tax threatens to take some of his pennies away, the Tesla CEO has thrown an online tantrum.
Some tax makes Elon Musk a very sad boy
The proposed Billionaire Tax would only target ultra-wealthy American citizens who are worth upwards of a billion dollars. As the mega-rich like Bezos, Musk and Zuckerberg have long-used methods of tax avoidance, this new taxation would ensure they pay their share.
Instead of taxing billionaires’ salaries, the proposed rule would tackle stocks and bonds. Of course, this would only be a yearly dent in the swelling pockets of the affected people, but it would result in more money for the government’s Climate Change Bill and Social Safety Net.
Of course, Elon Musk took to Twitter to complain about the tax. The Tesla CEO attempted to strike fear into his millions of fans. He theorised that if the government is going to do this to him, they’ll do it to the average citizen, even though citizens pay a higher percentage of tax than he does.
He tweeted: “According to their own estimates, this tax only covers ~10% of the $3.5 trillion spending bill. Where will the other 90% come from? The answer is you.”

But muh Mars Mission!
After the news broke that Elon Musk could end up paying more tax, the billionaire’s rabid fans started to defend him. Fans claimed that Musk needs the billions of unpaid tax to fund his proposed Mars mission.
The Tesla CEO joined in with fans saying that, yes, that’s exactly what he’d use the money on. He tweeted: “My plan is to use the money to get humanity to Mars and preserve the light of consciousness.”
Of course, most of Musk’s SpaceX projects are funded by the average person’s taxes. SpaceX projects are funded with government subsidiaries and contacts, such as the company’s involvement in the meantime 2024 moon landing mission.
