God Of War director shares BRILLIANT idea for a Star Wars game

The critically-acclaimed series 'The Mandalorian' concludes its second season this week on Friday, and it's seen some fantastic set-pieces and plot twists throughout.

However, Star Wars has had a history of cancelled games, from 'Battlefront III' to 'Maul', and they were given a clean sweep once Disney bought Lucasfilm in 2012.

However, 'God of War' director Corey Balrog has mentioned how he would love to see 'The Mandalorian' be adapted into a game.

But a tweet and some research later uncovers a game that did do just that.

A 1313 Idea

Back in 2012, LucasArts, the gaming-arm of LucasFilm, announced a project called 'Star Wars: 1313', where you would take control of a bounty hunter, and then for the majority of the game, Boba Fett.

It would have taken on the missions and targets of the Bounty Hunter, traversing across worlds such as Coruscant and Dantooine.

It was similar in scope to Uncharted and Tomb Raider, but in a Star Wars theme. But it does seem as though that the ideas have been passed onto 'The Mandalorian' TV show.

Cory does raise a good point regardless; it's a perfect game for Star Wars. From what we've gotten from EA so far, another single-player game in the vein of 'Fallen Order', but controlling a Bounty Hunter would be a fantastic game.

What Could Have Been

It's a tantalising thought; controlling a bounty hunter, steering a ship that you build and improve upon to explore the galaxy to track down bounties for republic credits.

You think of a combination of games such as 'No Mans Sky', 'Red Dead Redemption 2' and 'Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order' rolled into this bounty hunter game.

However, EA have the licence to Star Wars, after much bidding. While Disney can allow other developers to use the licence for certain pitches, it currently looks unlikely.

However, imagining 'Naughty Dog' or 'Santa Monica Studio' with this retake of '1313' is a tantalising one, and perhaps the below tweet from Celia may give even more light to what 1313 would have become.
