Charlie Cox confirmed as Daredevil in the MCU

Marvel Studios’ plans for the future are typically shrouded in mystery. In recent months, many of those mysteries have been leaked, including details of Spider-Man: No Way Home and the return of Charlie Cox as Daredevil. However, Marvel has vehemently refused to confirm any of it.

Until today, that is. After much speculation, Marvel president Kevin Feige has confirmed what many fans have been hoping for. Finally, Charlie Cox will be returning as Daredevil for future projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Kevin Feige confirms Charlie Cox is back as Daredevil

Reported by CinemaBlend, Kevin Feige spoke about the return of beloved actors to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With the MCU’s complexities, some storylines that were once canon, such as the Netflix shows, have been distanced from canon. However, fans have been extremely vocal about wanting prior actors to return.

Feige doesn't want to disappoint fans. Talking to the outlet, the Marvel boss confirmed that some actors will be returning. Instead of being part of a largely non-canon storyline, these actors can return as their characters to play along with other superheroes. Specifically, the Marvel boss confirmed who would be playing Daredevil.

He said:

"If you were to see Daredevil in upcoming things, Charlie Cox, yes, would be the actor playing Daredevil. Where we see that, how we see that, when we see that, remains to be seen."

A rare occasion for Marvel

Kevin Feige’s reveal of Cox’s return as Daredevil is an extremely rare occasion for Marvel Studios. Typically, the movie studio reveals very little about returning characters or actors. For example, the return of Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire in No Way Home has yet to be confirmed.

Then again, fans have been adamant that they want Cox back as Daredevil. With the actor also more than willing to come back, it would’ve been a shame if he was replaced. Additionally, if Cox is back, other actors like Jon Bernthal could return in their roles.

It’s doubtful that this is the start of a more transparent Marvel. However, that's probably for the best. While Marvel's secrecy can be frustrating at times, it does allow for some fantastic surprises. Would you really want those spoiled?
