Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order introduced the world to Cal Kestis, a young Jedi that escaped Order 66. After just one game with the naive Jedi, thousands of fans clamoured to see the character make the jump from video game to live action.
Many fans have seen this as a very simple procedure. With Kestis modelled exactly off his actor Cameron Monaghan, Disney wouldn’t have to jump to find a new actor. He’s right there.
Is Disney making a Cal Kestis show for Disney Plus?
According to a report from Star Wars News Net, Disney is finally making way for a new Cal Kestis show. After years of fans waiting for the character to make the jump to live action, their wish will be granted.
Star Wars News Net notes that the series does not have many solid details at time of reporting. However, seeing as the other has been correct about minor details from The Book of Boba Fett all the way up to huge moments from The Mandalorian, there’s credibility there.
The outlet reports that Cameron Monaghan has signed on to do the Disney Plus show after his new game, Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. This game will seemingly see his character take on even more of the Inquisitors.
It’s also reported that there’s currently no production date for the Cal Kestis show. However, this makes a lot of sense. With the show seemingly in the conception phase, the series is likely being thrown around as part of the next slate of shows for Disney Plus.
“The rumor itself, at the moment, is that there is a Cal Kestis show in the works for Disney Plus,” the website reads. “The rumor is that [the actor Cameron Monaghan has] actually signed on to play the character from Jedi: Fallen Order in a live-action series for Disney Plus. There’s no production dates set, but my source tells me that this is happening.”

Do fans really want this?
The love for Cal Kestis has only grown in the years since Fallen Order hit shelves. While the character was criticised for being bland, the passion from actor Cameron Monaghan and the ever-lovable droid BD-1 has made fans cleaner for a live-action show.
Fans have been waiting for the series’ announcement with fervour. In fact, when one episode of The Book of Boba Fett Included a BD-1 droid, many were furious that Kestis was nowhere to be seen.
Of course, we still have no idea when the series will release, or if it’ll make its way out of pre-production. If it does end up becoming a reality, it’s likely years away.
