Amazing Spider-Man actor Andrew Garfield has had a rough run. After being replaced as Peter Parker by Tom Holland, the actor is set to return in Spider-Man: No Way Home. However, it's obvious that the actor can't talk about his return.
Earlier this year, Andrew Garfield told fans that he was not in the upcoming Spider-Man movie. However, as more evidence is unearthed and set photos leak online, it's obvious that the actor is returning. Nevertheless, Garfield’s continues to stay strong and not break his NDA.
Andrew Garfield tells Jimmy Fallon No Way Home pics are photoshopped
In a segment on The Tonight Show, Garfield was approached by Jimmy Fallon regarding his upcoming Spider-Man appearance. When told that he's in the new film, he coyly responded, “I'm not sure about that. Wait what? I had no idea, like. What are you talking about?”
Garfield was then asked about the viral photo that leaked last week. He replied, “If you show me the photo, I can tell you if it's me or whether it's a real thing.” As Fallon wouldn't be able to show the image on air without major copyright infringement, he said it was “erased from the internet”. Garfield replied:
“Oh, how convenient, Detective Fallon. I heard about, and I did see it, and it's a Photoshop. I'm trying to manage expectations. If they wanna give me a call at this late, late stage of the game. You know, I'm just sitting here in my tracksuit.”

Tom Holland is “perfect”
Despite having to deny his appearance in No Way Home, Andrew Garfield did use the time to hype up Tom Holland. As the current cinematic webhead, Holland is often criticised for being a “bad Spider-Man”. With his upcoming movie featuring the return of now-loved past Spideys, that criticism will only be exacerbated.
In his final statement, Garfield defended Holland whilst mocking overly negative fans, saying:
“I have and I'm excited. And I think that Tom Holland is just the perfect Peter Parker and Spider-Man, so I'm super stoked. And I just get to be a fan again, which is my preferred position. To be able to sit in the audience and go, ‘You screwed up, mate! You didn't do it as well as you could've done.’ I get to be that guy and go, ‘Eh, I didn't really love the suit’.”
Spider-Man: No Way Home releases theatrically on 17th December, 2021.
