Ant-Man 3 rocked the world by revealing the lovable MODOK as its main villain, alongside Kang. However, the toy-like villain’s design has leaked ahead of time fans are divided, with most feedback being negative.
The MCU has always done altered from the comics, but it’s still disappointing to see this version of MODOK. Will this be the final design of the classic Marvel villain? Or is it going to change during the movie?
Is this the final Ant-Man 3 design for MODOK?
On Twitter, user Chuck the Conqueror found an official Ant-Man 3 t-shirt that reveals MODOK’s design for the MCU movie. While he still has the giant head fans that associate him with, fans aren’t digging the giant helmet blocking his face.
Since this is a helmet, there’s a very good chance that Ant-Man or Wasp breaks it, revealing his face. Admittedly, this is just pure speculation but anything can happen in the MCU, especially if it homages the comic books.
Fans are upset about MODOK’s design in Ant-Man 3 because the character has been adapted numerous times and looked better. Obvious examples include the MODOK series on Hulu and his more “realistic” appearance in the flawed Marvel’s Avengers video game.
Just the beginning?
Interestingly enough, insider KC Walsh claims that Quantumania is just “the beginning” for MODOK in the MCU, hinting at something big. Aside from changing his appearance, it seems this classic villain will be staying around and causing problems for our new heroes.
Ant-Man 3 is expected to be a huge part of Phase Five, not only giving us Kang as a villain but setting up the next Avengers movies. The trailer from Comic-Con also gained a lot of praise from fans, due to how serious it was when compared to other Ant-Man movies.
Fans will be able to catch Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania next year on February 17, 2023.
