The spotlight of the WWDC 2023 event was undoubtedly claimed by the announcement of the new MR Headset, the Apple Vision Pro.

While its essence lies in being a mixed reality (MR) headset, Apple intriguingly avoids the terms VR, AR or mixed reality. Instead, they have coined it a "spatial computer," marking a distinctive approach to its identity.

In this comprehensive Apple Vision Pro guide, we delve into every aspect surrounding this groundbreaking product, including its release date, pricing details, and all the valuable information we've gathered so far.

Apple Vision Pro release date

Apple Vision Pro will be released on February 2, 2024 in the United States. Apple says the device will be available to the rest of the world later this year. As soon as the dates are revealed, we'll be sure to update the guide with the latest information.

Inside the headset, there are two Micro OLED 4K displays; one is for your left eye, and the other is for your right eye. These displays exhibit a remarkable resolution of 3800 x 3000 per eye, which is far superior that the Meta Quest 3 resolution.

The Vision Pro has a refresh rate of 90Hz for 2D content, as officially stated by Apple. However, the headset doesn't stop there – it has the capacity to surge to 96Hz for content created at 24 frames per second.

The Apple Vision Pro runs on visionOS, the "world’s first spatial operating system." This system blends digital content with the physical world and helps you interact with the headset in a user-friendly way.

Powering the Apple Vision Pro are two distinct chips. The M2 chip not only manages the visionOS efficiently, but it also orchestrates complex computer vision algorithms and renders stunning graphics, all while being exceptionally power-efficient.

Complementing the M2 chip is the brand-new R1 chip, which is specifically dedicated to process input from the cameras, sensors, and microphones, streaming images to the displays within 12 ms - for a virtually lag-free, real-time view of the world.
