If you are a Snapchat+ subscriber, you must be a little confused about the whole new Snapchat Plus Planets thing.
Introduced in late June 2022, Snapchat Plus - an optional subscription service - unlocks a number of exclusive features like story rewatch count, Web Snapchat, and more. One of the exclusive features is the Friend Solar Systems.
Snapchat Plus subscribers are left to wonder what the new feature means. So today, we will explain what Snapchat Plus Planets mean and how it works. Let's dive in!

What Do The Planets Mean On Snapchat Plus?
Planets on Snapchat Plus are a fancy way to represent how close you are to one of your Snapchat friends.
Your top eight friends on Snapchat are assigned a planet based on how close you both are, with Mercury being the closest and Neptune being the farthest away. The people you snap and chat with the most are your top eight friends.
On someone’s Friendship Profile, you’ll see a Best Friends or Friends badge with a gold ring around it. "Best Friends" means that you’re one of each other’s eight closest friends, and "Friends" means that you’re one of their eight closest friends, but they’re not one of yours.
Tapping on the friendship badge will reveal to you which planet you are in their Solar System. In other words, how close you are with them. For example, if your friend is the Sun and you’re Earth in their Solar System, that means you’re their third closest friend.
Snapchat Plus Planets Order With Pictures
In order to figure out your position in your friend's Solar System, you need to know the order of the planets in our Solar System as well as what they look like. Because Snapchat Plus Friendmoji doesn't show you the name or position of the planet - only a picture of the planet is displayed.
It is quite difficult to reckon your place in your friend's Solar System if you don't know the order of the planets and their appearance. So, here is the Snapchat Plus Planets order with pictures:
- Mercury
- Venus
- Earth
- Mars
- Jupiter
- Saturn
- Uranus
- Neptune
Snapchat Friend Solar System Not Working?
If you go to your best friends' profiles and you see no gold ring around their friend status, it may appear that Snapchat's solar system is not working. But that is not necessarily the case.
In this case, there are only two possible explanations. One, you have to be on their best friends list in order to see your spot in their solar system. Two, in order to view Friend Solar Systems, both you and your friend must have a linked Bitmoji.
