Wondering how to reset your Instagram Explore feed? We've got you covered!
Instagram Explore is a place where you can find relevant content of your interests. Much like the suggested posts on Instagram, content, accounts, and entities that you do not already follow but might be interested in will appear in your Explore feed. It's a great way to discover new accounts and content.
However, your Explore page would get messed up sometimes and start to show you inappropriate content. In that situation, you may want to reset your Instagram Explore feed back to normal.
How To Reset Instagram Explore Feed
You cannot do a hard reset of your Instagram Explore feed, but can feed it information to improve your experience.
You can tailor your Explore feed by telling the Instagram algorithm what you would like and wouldn't like to see on your Explore feed. Let's see how you can do that.
- Go to Explore tab.
- Tap on the content you wouldn't like to see on your Explore page in the future.
- Tap the 3-dot icon above the post.
- Press Not interested
- Now, double tap on the content would like to see more on your Explore page.
That's it! This is all you can do.
The Instagram algorithm will take in your feedback and push in you the content that matches your preferences. Your tweaks might take a little while to kick in since it takes time for the Instagram algorithm to learn and adapt to your preferences.
What Is Explore Feed On Instagram Based On?
Instagram makes recommendations to help you discover new accounts and content. The Explore feed, Accounts You May Like, Suggested Posts and Reels are the different ways Instagram recommends accounts and content for you.
As per the Instagram FAQ, these recommendations are automatically selected based on a variety of factors, including:
- Instagram accounts you follow
- Photos and videos you like on Instagram
- Who you're connected to on Instagram
For example, if you interact with restaurants and bookstores on Instagram, they may recommend content about food, recipes, books, or reading. Basically, the Instagram Explore feed is heavily influenced by your interactions, just like the order of the Followers list on Instagram.
