2. Tap the 3 dots icon next to Reels and short videos
3. Tap Hide

The Reels will only be hidden for the current browsing session. When you open the Facebook app for the next time, they will reappear and you can repeat the same process to get rid of them.

How To Turn Off Sound On Facebook Reels

The most annoying thing about the Facebook Reels is that they play automatically with sound on. Thankfully, Facebook has an option to turn off sound as well as disable the autoplay function.

To turn off the automatic sound for Feed videos and Reels, follow the steps below:

1. In the top right of Facebook, tap the 3-lines icon.
2. Scroll down and tap Settings and privacy, then tap Settings.
3. Scroll down to Preferences and tap Media.
4. Below Autoplay, toggle off the switch next to Videos start with sound to turn the automatic sound off.

Alternatively, you can turn off sound on Facebook Reels using the volume rocker button on your device. To disable the autoplay function, just check the box next to Never Autoplay Videos and you will be fine. This will apply to all videos, not only Reels.
