In order to find someone on Instagram via their phone number, you must have it in your contacts and the user in question must have an Instagram account linked to that phone number in your possession.

If the above condition is met, you are ready to search for that particular person on Instagram by their phone number. This is how you will do it:

1. Open Instagram and go to the Profile tab.
2. Tap the 3-line icon in the top right, and then tap Settings.
3. Tap Account, and then tap Contacts Syncing.
4. Toggle on the switch next to Connect Contacts to turn on contact syncing.
5. Go through the list of people on the screen. You will find the one you are looking for there.

Keep in mind that this is only if the person has linked their account with the phone number.

With the latest Instagram update, it is much easier to find your contacts. Tap the Person With+ Icon next to Edit Profile in your Profile tab. Next, tap the See All button next to Discover people. Then connect contacts to find the person you are looking for.

How To Search Instagram By Phone Number Without Account

Unfortunately, it is not possible to search for someone on Instagram by phone number without having an account. This is because Instagram doesn't really want anyone using its platform without having a profile.

However, if you know their Instagram handle or just their name, you can use the ImgInn website to find them.

If the profile isn't private, you can see their posts, and comments on them and even download the pictures. Well, there exists a way to view private Instagram profiles without following them, though.

When all is said and done, if you want to search them by phone number, you must have an Instagram profile.
