If Hive Social is not working for you, we have some potential fixes.
Hive Social, a Twitter alternative like Mastodon, has been gaining traction as of late. The social app has hit 2 million users in response to the upheaval at Twitter following Elon Musk’s takeover.
With a sudden influx of users, Hive Social had to deal with server issues and other technical problems. Many users have reported that Hive Social is not working for them and are unable to login or create an account.
If you are one of the affected, we have some troubleshooting tips that might help you to fix the problem.
How to fix Hive Social not working
The Hive Social app has seen a huge spike in the number of sign-ups, resulting in the server being overloaded. So whether you are having trouble logging in or unable to put a header or a profile picture, a server outage or an overburdened server is likely to be the cause.
That said, there are some other things that can cause the app to misbehave such as a corrupted app cache. So, if your Hive Social app is not working, here is what you need to do:
- First, make sure the server is up and running. You can visit their official Twitter page to see if they have reported any ongoing server issues.
- Try clearing the app cache, just in case the cache data is corrupted
- Restarting the app is worth a shot.
- Your last resort is to wait for the traffic to clear and try after a couple of hours or during non-peak hours.
Hopefully, one of our suggestions resolves the Hive Social not working issue. If not, we recommend you contact the team at Hive via their official Twitter. They will be able to shed some light on the issue you are currently experiencing and also provide you with a resolution.

Hive Social username not working
Many users have reported that they are having trouble creating an account on Hive because all the usernames seem to be taken. That seems to be impossible, right?
Well, the usernames aren’t taken, it is just a little glitch in the system due to the server being overloaded, according to a post by Hive staff on Twitter. They assured the users that account creation would go back to normal as soon as the server is fixed. So, don't worry.
Also, many users reported seeing several accounts with the same usernames. Hive Social founder Kassandra explained that the duplicate username issue happened because the function that prevents duplicate usernames from occurring was temporarily disabled due to the heavy traffic.
It seems Hive Social has tackled the issues and everything is back to normal. However, the Hive Social not working issue seems to resurface at times.
