The PS5 Bluetooth Situation...

How to connect AirPods Max to your PS5

The first thing you need to do is get your hands on a Bluetooth dongle. These are widely available at a very affordable price.

Once you have your Bluetooth dongle, the next steps are really straightforward:

• Plug your dongle into your PS5 USB port, your TV or monitor audio output, or even into the controller, depending on what type of dongle you have.
• Next, put your AirPods Max and your Bluetooth dongle in pairing mode. Pairing mode is indicated by a flashing white light on your AirPods Max. They should find one another with no difficulty.
• That's it! Once your dongle and your AirPods Max are paired, you are good to go, and ready to enjoy high-quality audio.

One thing worth mentioning is that the AirPods Max will give you a great audio experience, but may not work quite so well if you are also wanting to use them for voice chat. For that, a dedicated gaming headset is still probably the way to go. But if you are quite happy to forego that feature, this is everything you need.
