Whether you've got a new phone and contract to go with it, a new work phone, or you just have a terrible memory, there are plenty of reasons why you may need to know how to check your phone number on your iPhone.
And while there is a potentially legitimate question about why you have never learned your own phone number (hi Dad!) there will be numerous times when that question doesn't apply.
So rather than find yourself in the sticky situation of being unable to provide a phone number at a critical juncture, here are a few simple ways to check your phone number on your iPhone. Or on someone else's iPhone, should that scenario apply.
How To Check Your Phone Number on iPhone
There are a variety of different ways that you can check your phone number on an iPhone. They are all relatively simple to do, so don't worry if you aren't the best with technology. Here's how you do it.
Via Contacts
Potentially the quickest and easiest way to find your phone number is to access the contacts list on your phone. To open your contacts, open the Phone app and choose "Contacts" at the bottom of the screen.
This will then give you a list of all the people you have saved as contacts, in alphabetical order. But the very first entry comes before the alphabetised list. Ths contact is called My Card, and contains your contact details.
Tapping on this will reveal your phone number for that particular iPhone.
Via Settings
Alternatively, you can access your phone number on an iPhone via the Settings menu. Open the Settings menu, then scroll down to the Phone tab. Opening this tab will open a new page. The first line on this new page is labelled My Number. This is the phone number of your iPhone.

Via iTunes on Windows
Finally, if you have access to a Windows computer with iTunes installed, you can use this to find your phone number. In order to do this:
- Plug your phone into your computer.
- You may receive a prompt asking you to grant access to the iPhone. You will need to press Allow, and enter your phone password.
- Once this is done, open iTunes.
- Click on the phone icon, located in the top left of the menu bar.
- This will then take you to a screen which summarises details about your phone, including its phone number.
