Apparent Leak may confirm potential Apple event during March

A Twitter leak suggests Apple’s next showcase could happen in March, and could see Apple introduce a new iPad Pro and Air Pods.

The information comes from prominent leaker DuanRui and suggests the event will take place on March 23rd. The event will probably feature a number of new products, including AirTags, iPad Pro, AirPods and Apple TV, which according to the leaker are products which are all ready to release.

Interestingly, March 23rd is also the day which OnePlus will reveal its new OnePlus9 model, so it’s going to be a busy day for tech fans.

iPad Pro

While the leak is light on details, the rumours of a new iPad Pro have circulated for sometime, so we’ve already got a reasonably good idea of the improvements we can expect.

The new iPad Pro will likely adopt the Apple M1 chip, which is the latest mobile chipset designed by the company. The Apple M1 chip is Arm-based and features an 8-core CPU and includes 5nm processing technology. The chip is currently available in the 13-inch MacBook Pro, the MacBook Air and the Mac Mini.

This is the first time Apple will have included the M1 chip in a portable device, and it should see the introduction of 5G into the tablet family of Apple iPads.

AirPods

Leaks at the start of this year suggested Apple was planning to release an updated pair of its flagship AirPod earphones, and this leak seemingly confirms that.

Little is known about what the new AirPods model will feature, although speculation from across the internet seems to point to a number of new features. Firstly, the new AirPods model could potentially feature ambient lighting sensors, which can be used in conjunction with health and fitness applications. The new AirPods model could also receive an extended battery life and a new processor chip.

Previous rumours had suggested the new AirPods would release during March, but with the event not taking place until the 23rd, we’d wager a release on the day or at the beginning of April.
