After years of waiting, the Ghost of Tsushima PC release date is almost here. Jin Sakai's battle against the invading Mongols has been an exciting experience for those on PlayStation consoles since it released in 2020, but many have been waiting to play the game on PC, especially as PlayStation starts bringing more games to the platform.

Now, if you're tired of playing Horizon Forbidden West on Steam Deck, or you've played through Horizon Forbidden West in VR, then the next PlayStation port won't have you waiting too long.

Ghost of Tsushima PC release date

Ghost of Tsushima will release for PC on May 16, 2024, arriving on both Steam and the Epic Games Store on the same day. Buying the game on PC will set you back $59.99 / £49.99, and it can be pre-ordered on the Steam storefront now.

The PC version of the game is the Director's Cut, which was a second release of the game that featured the Iki Island Expansion, additional story content that expands upon Jin Sakai's story. There's also the Ghost of Tsushima Legends game mode, a cooperative mode that allows you to play with up to three friends.

Ghost of Tsushima PC features

Like many other PlayStation ports on PC, the Ghost of Tsushima PC release offers plenty of PC-only features that will give you a customisable opportunity once the game launches.

For example, the graphics are fully customisable, giving you a range of options based on whether you're using a budget-friendly PC or a high-end machine. However, there's also DLSS, XeSS, and FSR support for those on budget computers.

There's also Ultrawide, Super Ultrawide, and 48:9 Triple Monitor support, giving you a wealth of options depending on your setup. Ghost of Tsushima's PC port will also be the first PlayStation game to give you a PlayStation overlay and PS Trophies on PC.

Of course, there's also the fact that this is the Director's Cut, and features the full Ghost of Tsushima experience, including any Quality of Life updates, as well as offering the Iki Island and Legends expansions.

Ghost of Tsushima PC story and gameplay

In Ghost of Tsushima, you play as Jin Sakai, an honourable Samurai who must bend the code of honor in order to save his home island of Tsushima, after the invading Mongols take over the island. As Sakai, you have a wealth of tools at your disposal, from your trusty sword to "dishonourable" stealth gadgets like smoke bombs and throwing knives.

You'll experience a story filled with action, intrigue, and moral ambiguity as Jin pushes the line of what is acceptable by Samurai warriors, including fighting with his beloved uncle.

The world of Ghost of Tsushima is beautiful. There's no Ubisoft-style waypoints here, but rather, the wind will guide you towards your destination. Jin can use a variety of stances to take down different enemy types, adapting to the Mongol's strength and turning it into their weakness.

That's everything you need to know about the Ghost of Tsushima PC release date. We can't wait to return to Sucker Punch's incredible world, especially on PC with all of the amazing must-have features.
